Natural Wood Beds
A good night’s sleep is one of the most important elements of a happy and healthy life. While a myriad of elements must all come together to make a good night’s sleep possible, a well-constructed, high quality, solid wood bed is certainly one to consider.
Stuart David, American made, natural wood beds are the answer to that dilemma. In addition to the unmistakable beauty of real wood furniture, the durability, longevity and overall value of fine craftsmanship can not be overstated. Real wood beds can last for many lifetimes, making them the obvious choice when thinking about one’s environmental footprint. Most ‘wooden’ beds available for purchase are not wood at all, in the conventional sense of the word. Rather, they are manufactured with pressboard consisting primarily of wood dust and glue. Stuart David beds are instead, the ‘real deal’; these are beds made from natural wood, using time tested, traditional construction methods, including mortise and tenon joinery.
Bed Options
Our beds are available in Twin, Twin extra long, Full, Full extra long, Queen, Western / Californian King as well as traditional / Easter King sizes. They all feature a robust frame structure to support a box spring and mattress. We also offer the option of adding a wood deck over the mattress support frame for customers that want to forgo the use of a box spring. Adjustable or motion beds are very popular of late. To accommodate the additional space required to house an adjustable mattress, we offer longer rails and the removal of the bed frame / support structure. Between our wood selections (Maple, Oak, Quartersawn Oak, Walnut, Rustic Alder, Cherry, Beech and Rustic Hickory) and the large selection of colors and paints, finding the perfect bed for your home is easy.
Beds with Drawers
All Stuart David beds are available with one of the best additions: a real wood Platform Bed assembly. This turns any Stuart David bed into a Platform Bed, essentially turning the unused space beneath the bed / mattress into a six-drawer dresser. Or, instead, if a bed is to be placed up against a wall, a Platform Bed can be made single sided, and therefore a more economical three-drawer dresser. Our Platform Beds use full extension soft-close or ball bearing drawer slides and dovetailed Beech wood drawer boxes.
Stuart David beds are also available in two footboard configurations: tall & short. Since we manufacture the beds in California we can customize the height of both the headboard and footboard. The most frequent request for customization is to shorten the headboard because it is in front of a window. Viewing our beds online only gives you a glimpse of the true beauty of the piece.
